Senior Structural Engineer – Bridge & Infrastructure Projects | Indiana

Job Status: $105,000-$128,000 | Full Time

Hiring Locations: Fort Wayne Office / Valparaiso Office

A&Z Engineering is seeking a Senior Structural Designer / Engineer to join our growing Engineering Department. This role supports a wide range of structural and bridge design projects and may be based in Fort Wayne or Valparaiso, Indiana, with hybrid/remote flexibility available. You will be part of a multidisciplinary civil and infrastructure design team delivering transportation and public infrastructure projects across Indiana.

About the Role

In this position, you will lead the design of small structures and bridges, supporting roadway and infrastructure projects for public-sector clients. Responsibilities include developing plans, specifications, analyses, calculations, and technical reports, as well as coordinating design efforts with engineers, designers, and project managers.

You will apply sound structural and drainage design principles and provide examples of prior bridge or structural design experience. The role also includes mentoring designers, contributing to QA/QC reviews, and supporting efficient project delivery by monitoring budgets and progress against scope.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• 10+ years of professional engineering experience
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Indiana
• Experience with structural and bridge design
• Strong decision-making, communication, and leadership skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Compensation & Benefits

Annual salary range $105,000–$128,000, plus bonus program.
