Job Status: $28-$33/hour | Full Time, Part Time

A&Z Engineering, LLC is seeking Construction Inspectors and Inspection Technicians to join our growing inspection team. Full-time, part-time, and internship opportunities are available. This position supports roadway and infrastructure projects for local, state, and private clients and provides hands-on field experience on active construction sites.

Positions are available in Fort Wayne and Valparaiso, Indiana, with work primarily based in the field.

About the Role

As a Construction Inspector, you will support roadway and infrastructure construction projects by performing field observations, measurements, and documentation. You will work alongside experienced inspectors and engineers while gaining exposure to construction practices, design intent, and public infrastructure projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Review and interpret construction plans and specifications
• Observe construction activities to verify compliance with design intent
• Perform field measurements, quantity tracking, and basic testing
• Document daily construction activities and communicate findings
• Coordinate with contractors, public agencies, and utility companies
• Assist with roadway and construction inspection tasks as assigned
• Maintain clear written and verbal communication with project staff

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to work outdoors in field conditions
• Strong communication and basic math skills
• Ability to interact professionally with the public and utilities

Preferred Qualifications

• College coursework or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field
• Minimum of 2 years of construction experience for full-time roles
• Interest in roadway, transportation, or infrastructure projects

Compensation

Hourly rate between $28.00 and $33.00 per hour, depending on experience and position type.
