A&Z continues to metamorphosize the Drake Avenue corridor! A&Z is the lead designer of Drake Road from Weston Avenue to Main Street, and we will continue as the lead designer of the roadway improvements 4,000 feet westward to Beacon Road.
The project will enhance the corridor east of SR 3 by reconstructing the pavement, adding curb and gutter, sidewalk and multipurpose pathway, ornamental lighting, and a new storm sewer system.
West of SR 3 the project improvements will include milling/widening/resurfacing the pavement, adding curb and gutter, multipurpose pathway, ornamental lighting, and a new storm sewer system.
The planned pedestrian/bicycle improvements including a pedestrian signal and refugee island to cross SR 3 and the ornamental street lighting will add connectivity and greatly enhance safety for the residences and school children along the project corridor. This critical connection will allow access to Sunset Park, downtown district, and East Noble Middle School reducing the number of vehicle drop-offs and pick-ups. In addition, the pathway will promote a healthier lifestyle of adjacent residents by providing a safe and accessible place to walk, run, and bike for exercise.
The extension of the project corridor to the City corporation limits west of Lima Road (SR 3) will further improve community involvement and pride. It will bring unity to the residents and businesses located along this segment of Drake Road and add a sense of being part of the City!
