September 2025 Update on the Porter County Highway Facilities

A&Z Engineering is proud to help Porter County modernize its Highway Department facilities in Valparaiso, Indiana. This project reflects the County’s commitment to investing in the people and infrastructure that keep Porter County moving every day.

A&Z Engineering partnered with Martin Riley Architects on this endeavor. The project includes new offices, a maintenance garage, sign shop, cold storage building, and salt barn.

Beyond the new structures, the redevelopment enhances the site with improved access, expanded parking, secure fencing, and updated landscaping—creating a safe, efficient, and functional workspace for County crews.

A&Z’s scope includes surveying, civil and structural design, architectural coordination, MEP engineering, and construction administration, providing a complete, seamless delivery from concept through construction.

Construction is expected to begin in late 2024, with completion in early 2025.

“This project represents Porter County’s investment in its future—and in the dedicated teams that maintain our roads and infrastructure,” said Jamal Anabtawi, PE, Director of Business Development at A&Z Engineering.

A&Z is honored to partner with Porter County on a project that strengthens local operations and supports the community for decades to come.
