From Plans to Pavement: Students Experience Infrastructure in Action

Community Engagement

What does it take to bring a transportation project to life?
A group of students found out firsthand during an unforgettable transportation engineering field experience hosted by the Indiana Transportation Team—a collaboration of INDOT, contractors, and engineering consultants from across the state.

Throughout the day, students explored every phase of project development. They learned how a project moves from planning and design to construction, participated in hands-on surveying demonstrations, and even helped pour concrete. The experience gave these future engineers a ground-level view of how infrastructure is planned, engineered, and built.

A&Z Engineering proudly took part in this student-focused initiative that connects education, industry, and community—offering a real-world introduction to careers in civil and transportation engineering.
