Construction Status for St Joe Center Project

Below are some of the pictures of the progress for the St Joe Center project. This page will be updated as
often as possible with new pictures and the project status. |

Work continues on the St Joe
Center project, and the storm sewer is moving closer to completion. This is
a reminder that starting Monday (August
4th), St Joe Road will be closed for the week. St Joe should be
opened up again on the 9th or 10th of August. Motorists are advised
to take the posted detour, and delays are to be expected. LSI is also
working behind Fleming, relocating the fiber optics duct that runs
along St Joe Center. Storm sewer installation as well as the
relocation of the fiber duct should be completed by the end of
August. After these two tasks are finished, temporary widening will
begin. The widening will begin about September 1st, and be
completed around September 15th. This should hopefully alleviate
some of the traffic congestion during the remainder of the year, but
does not guarantee that delays will completely go away. Check
back here later for some pictures of the project. UPDATE: Pictures added |

| *****Drivers, please take note of
the following message*****
ST. JOE ROAD TO CLOSE TEMPORARILY FOR STORM SEWER INSTALLATION
Drivers encouraged to use Evard, Reed detour
Fort Wayne, Ind.
– St. Joseph Road, north
of the St. Joseph Center Road
intersection, will close for up to seven days, depending on weather,
later this month as part of the St. Joe
Center widening project, for installation
of a storm sewer line.
The City’s contractor will cut an open
trench across
St. Joe Road along
the north side of St. Joe Center to
install a sewer main, instead of the original plan to bore a tunnel
for the pipe, based on soil conditions.
The City recommends drivers use the
marked detours on Evard and Reed roads to travel around the pipe
crossing. The entrances to the
Riviera
Plaza shopping
center and the Doc Ricker’s convenience store will remain open. The
tentative start date for this road closure is August 4th, and road
will be closed for approximately one (1) week.
*****End Public Notice*****

| It has been quite a while since this page has been updated, and much has changed.
Fleming has finished installing the water services, and after some initial difficulties the storm sewer has begun.
This process could take us to the middle of July or later, but once this process is finished the road construction
can begin. Fleming has recently made it past Becker Street with their installation of the storm sewer, and should be approaching
Shell Drive within the next day or so. While this work is being
performed, St Joe Center will be limited to one way traffic at the
work location, and any side streets connecting to St Joe Center may
be periodically closed during the work day.

| The water main has been completed, and
is connected to the old water main. The services have yet to
be completed due to some problems with the testing, but should be
completed sometime within the next couple of weeks. Once the
water services are connected Fleming can begin work on the storm sewer installation, and Verizon will begin the work to relocate their
duct. LSI has also completed the installation of the new signal at the
intersection of St Joe Center and St Joe Roads. |

It has been about a month since
the last update, and much has changed on St. Joe Center. Fleming
has completed the water main crossings across St. Joe Center, and
within the next couple of days the line will be tapped. Though
there will still be a couple of weeks of testing for the new water
main, the construction aspect should be completed early this week.
After this testing is completed, Fleming will move widening the road
and then installing the storm sewer. This process should take
about as long as the installation of the water main.
Lowe should be on-site within a week or so, to finish up the boring for the storm sewer.
This work was suspended due to poor soil conditions, that have
hopefully been resolved due to design change. |

| Fleming has been installing the
water main during the last couple of weeks, and be about half way
through the main installation at the end of this week. AEP and
the other utilities are in the midst of relocating the overhead
lines along St. Joe Center. This work is being done in
preparation for the boring pits that will be dug out starting in
March. |
