St. Joe River Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO)

St. Joe River Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO)

This Project is a combined sewer overflow (CS) relief sewer and part of the City of Fort Wayne's Long Term Control Plan CSO Control Measure #7 & #8. This project included more than one mile of new 24" and 48" sanitary sewers, new diversion structures, and modifications to existing regulator structures. This sanitary relief sewer relieves sewer for multiple City of Fort Wayne Sewer Outfalls and will transport combined sewer flows to the existing St. Joseph Interceptor. The existing St. Joseph Interceptor will transport CSO flows to the Water Pollution Control Plant's (WPCP's) Wet Weather Ponds for storage until the plant has capacity to treat these CSO flows prior to releasing to the Maumee River. This project also includes the construction of additional storm sewer to remove those storm flows from the existing combined sewers and the replacement and restoration of many poor conditioned streets.

Total improvements, approximately: $2.8 MILLION
