Coldwater Road will be widened to three, four, and five travel lanes where needed, from E. Dupont Road north to just north of Union Chapel Road. The roadway will be designed as an urban street incorporating context sensitive design principles and include curb and gutter, storm sewers, pedestrian infrastructure, street lighting, trees, traffic signals, signage, and pavement markings. A small structure will be extended or possibly a pedestrian bridge installed to cross the Allen County Roy Delagrange Drain which would accommodate sidewalks. Landscaping will include street trees and other recommended plantings of available green spaces in conjunction with any green infrastructure initiatives incorporated aimed at capturing/reducing runoff. Modification and addition of traffic signals within the project limits will provide PROWAG compliance. A&Z has DLZ on its team to complete the Topographic Survey and RW Engineering, SEH to assist in the design of Union Chapel Intersection and CHI Engineering for streetlighting.
Due to the project length and available funding, the project will be constructed as two separate projects. The maintenance of traffic phasing schemes for each project will maintain two-way traffic at all times during construction.
