A&Z provided design and inspection services for Phase I of roadway improvements on the west side of Columbia City (James St., Lowell St., Westgate Ave.). On the business route of US 30, after the City completed a topographic survey of Westgate Subdivision, A&Z completed their design work and supervised all elements of the construction. The design and inspection services consisted of
- Complete roadway reconstruction: horizontal alignment, vertical profile, and geometric layout of roadway
- Ensuring a mountable curb and gutter
- Adding new and updating existing sidewalks
- Improving drive approaches
- Upgrading storm sewer
- Installing watermain replacement
- Improving signage and pavement markings
- Updating street lighting
Upon completion of this project, residents of Columbia City now enjoy more accessible, safer business route with clear signage, and an updated sewer and watermain capacity.
