City of Garrett Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Program for Phase II & III.

City of Garrett Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Program for Phase II & III.

The City of Garrett is seeking to improve the walkability of the City and enhance the safety of the children and its residents whom travel by foot or bicycle. In an effort to promote more walking and biking to school, the design and construction of this phase could improve many issues of the City's walking facilities and bring this vision to a reality. Several goals of the City that could be accomplished under this project include:

  • Provide better connectivity for routes to school with ADA compliant intersections
  • Provide a stronger sense of community involvement
  • Provide safer routes to school while encouraging a greater number of students to walk and bike to school

Both students of GKB Schools and the St. Joe School will directly benefit from the proposed infrastructure improvements. The entire community will also reap benefits of improved sidewalk infrastructure. A&Z, together with the City of Garrett can succeed in accomplishing the Engineering phase of this SRTS project:
