  ANT Towpath   Aboite New Trails Towpath-Phase IV

Client: Aboite New Trails; Fort Wayne, IN

Project Details: : Phase IV of the Wabash and Erie Canal Towpath Trail includes the design of nearly 1.5 miles of shared use path in Southwest Allen County, including a trailhead development with parking lot and recreation areas to be located at the intersection of Engle Road and the trail. This trail will serve as a vital link to connect the trail networks in Southwest Allen County being developed by Aboite New Trails, Inc. to the Fort Wayne Rivergreenway and other local trail networks. A&Z Engineering is teaming with Bernardin & Lochmuller & Associates (BLA) to do the environmental study, and with Earth Source, Inc. on the design of the trail head and landscape elements. This project will be majority funded with Federal Transportation Enhancement (TE) monies.

  Pickwick   Pickwick Road Trail Project

Client: Town of Syracuse, IN

Project Details: A&Z Engineering will be part of a team led by Earth Source, Inc. to design a portion of the Pickwick Road Trail segment of the Syracuse-Wawasee Trail. After completing a feasibility study of the entire corridor for the Trail Committee, the design team has been asked to move forward with developing trail and boardwalk plans for specific portions of the corridor.

  Pickwick   C.R. 61 Resurfacing Project

Client: DeKalb County Highway Department, IN

Project Details: A&Z Engineering is under contract with DeKalb Country to provide preliminary engineering and construction engineering for the C.R. 61 resurfacing project. The project will involve the resurfacing of C.R. 61 between C.R. 44 and S.R. 6. This route is heavily used by tractor-trailers hauling metals and other products to the various industries. Construction will be broken down into two phases to alleviate disruption to traffic.

  CR 11-A West   C.R. 11-A (West) Roadway Improvements

Client: DeKalb County Highway Department, Indiana

Project Details: This project will be a compliment to the east side improvements of C.R. 11-A. This project begins approximately 400 feet west of County Road 17 and terminates at Interstate 69. The improvements include widening the existing pavement from 2-lanes to 3-lanes. Added curb and gutter with an enclosed storm system will improve the existing drainage conditions. Sidewalk and street lighting design are also included as part of the improvement. A&Z will be completing the right-of-way engineering services as the project is developed further.

  CR 59   C.R. 59 Improvements

Client: DeKalb County Highway Department, Indiana

Project Details: This design includes improving 1.0 miles of County Road 59 from State Road 8 to County Road 44.  County Road 59 has seen considerable development in the recent years with major industrial facilities along the corridor.  The improvements to the roadway will include a significant asphalt overlay of the existing pavement to accommodate the increased traffic volume, much of which is truck traffic to and from the various industrial facilities.  Other improvements to the corridor include the construction of full depth asphalt shoulders,  and a new bridge structure replacement over Solomon-Shank Ditch.

  St Joe Sidewalk   Town of St. Joe Sidewalk

Client: St. Joe, Indiana

Project Details: A&Z Engineering is under contract with the Town of St. Joe to complete design on a sidewalk route, for the federally funded "Safe Route to School" program.  This project involves replacing much of the older sidewalks, some of which are 100 years old; as well as, place some new sidewalk closer to the school.

  Warsaw Trails   Lake City Greenway Phase II: Beyer Farm Trail

Client: Warsaw, Indiana

Project Details: A&Z Engineering is under contract with the City of Warsaw to design a boardwalk and an asphalt trail.  This trail will connect the north trail and south trails together.  The total project length is approximately 1250 feet, with 300 feet of it being boardwalk.

  Flying J   Flying J Site Development

Client: Flying J Inc.

Project Details: A&Z Engineering is under contract with Flying J Inc, the largest retail distributor of diesel fuel in North America, to provide Civil Engineering services for a proposed multi-million dollar travel plaza to be located in New Haven, Indiana.  The 60+ acre site is located adjacent to Interstate 469 and State Road 930, near the southeast side of Fort Wayne, Indiana.  The state-of-the-art travel plaza will include a refueling station, convenience store and restaurant facilities accommodating over 150 tractor-trailers as well as numerous RVs and passenger vehicles.

Flutter Road

  Flutter Road Improvements

Client: Allen County Highway Department, Indiana

Project Details: A&Z is under contract to perform design and right-of-way engineering services for Flutter Road. This project is federally funded and must follow current state and federal design standards. This three mile long roadway improvement project will realign the roadway to the existing signalized intersection of Maplecrest and St. Joe Roads. The existing roadway will be widened and improvements will be made to the storm drainage adjacent to this project. The reconstruction of this roadway will also include a bicycle lane, traffic signal modification, and construction of two new concrete bridge structures. Rapid growth in this area of Allen County has prompted the need for this roadway improvement project.

  Flooded   New Haven Drainage Improvements

Client: New Haven, Indiana

Project Details: A&Z Engineering is under contract to perform the design services for the drainage improvements of the Rodenbeck Drain in New Haven, Indiana.  The design for this project consists of improving the hydraulics to the Rodenbeck, and enclosing approximately 1,200 LF of side ditch.

  CR 11-A East   C.R. 11-A(East) Roadway Improvements

Client: DeKalb County, Indiana

Project Details: A&Z Engineering is under contract to perform the design and right of way engineering services for the widening and resurfacing of C.R. 11-A in DeKalb County. This is an INDOT/LPA project which will utilize federal funds. The project extends from I-69 east to C.R. 427 (Old S.R. 427) and includes storm sewer and drainage improvements, new roadway realignment, and the installation of a pedestrian tunnel for access to the Kruse Auction Park. Additional improvements include new concrete sidewalks, curb and gutter, street lighting and a detention pond.
